Two different methods are
used to create these glass enamel pieces. In the first gallery collection, layers of opaque
and transparent enamels sandwich embossed Japanese Ginbari fine silver foil.
The pieces are baked after the application of each layer of materials to fuse them
together. The pieces in the second collection are torch fired. Each side of the piece is
heated with fire to fuse the powdered glass to the metal and each successive layering of
powdered or solid glass. The resulting pieces of each are eye-catching, smooth to
the touch, and textured in its appearance.
